un deseo que una realidad. Mi proyecto postdoctoral se extendió en el análisis
de las ideas sobre el cáncer en otros países europeos como la Francia de entreguerras,
donde estudié la manera en la que la disponibilidad tecnológica y el modelo

De
esta manera, tal y como estudié también para el caso inglés, se abandonaron
otras ideas más holísticas sobre el cáncer que antes de la introducción de las
radiaciones formaban parte de las explicaciones que algunos médicos daban a
esta enfermedad (<span style="color: #cc3300;">Redefining cancer in the interwar
period</span>, <i>American Journal of Public Health</i>, <i>97</i> (9). </span></span></div>

Tras mi periodo postdoctoral me adentré en la historia colonial estudiando la
puesta en marcha de tecnologías y asistencia médicas en <span style="color: #cc3300;">Guinea Ecuatorial </span>y su contribución al despliegue del poder
colonial. En relación al paludismo, las medidas adoptadas ahondaron en las
diferencias raciales y no pudieron mitigar el impacto medioambiental (ecológico
y humano) que produjo la explotación de los territorios y los cambios
ecológicos biológicos (talas masivas, cambios en los ciclos de los mosquitos,
aguas encharcadas) y del medio humano (traslados forzosos, condiciones
laborales abusivas) (Paludismo, explotación y racismo científico en Guinea
Ecuatorial).<br />

También investigué cómo el despliegue tecno-científico español (analíticas
sanguíneas, carnets sanitarios, huellas dactilares, test psicológicos) en la
colonia de Guinea (antes y después de la guerra civil) estuvo implicado en los
procesos de identidad colonial, racial y nacional contemporánea además de en
las políticas de exclusión de las mujeres. En el periodo anterior a la guerra
civil el aparato tecno-médico persiguió el objetivo de identificar sujetos
(cuerpos) útiles para el trabajo. En la etapa franquista sirvió para “extraer”
la idea de “sujeto español” a partir de las técnicas disciplinarias de la
medicina y la psicología (Scientific Technologies of National Identity as
Colonial Legacies, <a href="http://sss.sagepub.com/content/39/1/81.abstract"><span style="color: blue;">Social Studies of Science, 39 (1) 81-112</span></a>). El
conocimiento del papel de las representaciones científicas en la construcción
de la idea nacional, durante el franquismo, también lo analicé en el discurso
visual del No-Do en noticias sobre tecnologías médicas (<a href="http://pus.sagepub.com/content/vol14/issue4/"><span style="color: blue;">Public
Understanding of Science, 14(4): 2005, 393-408</span></a>). En este escenario
visual tecnificado también quedaba patente la transmisión propagandística del

en las sociedades contemporáneas, he reorientado, en la actualidad, mi
investigación hacia el objetivo de indagar, no sólo los mecanismos normativos
que despliega la ciencia y la medicina, sino los saberes subalternos o nativos
que escapan o negocian las redes de poder que los saberes expertos trenzan, con
el objetivo de custodiarnos. Expuse los fundamentos de mi línea actual de
trabajo en <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="color: #cc3300;">La
historia de la Medicina en el siglo XXI</span>, </i>mostrando que la teoría postcolonial
y el feminismo, han supuesto una crítica profunda a nuestra idea de qué es

desarrollada por las mujeres, a través de fuentes poco exploradas (cartas,
autobiografías, canciones y novelas)–, exploro los sistemas de <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">saberes vernáculos</b> (<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">indígenas, nativos, autóctonos, locales o
subalternos</b>) que pueden proporcionar una contestación a los sistemas de
poder en el terreno de las emociones, entendidas como constituyentes centrales

sobre la salud y la enfermedad en culturas no medicalizadas exploradas a través
de la literatura, o el uso biomédico de los sanadores tradicionales en campañas

Para ello utilizaré no sólo la huella que en el archivo ha dejado la psiquiatría con su definición de "paranoia", sino las formas que ha tomado en la ficción, la biografía y el arte. history of medicine in the XXI century</i>”, showing how feminist theory and
postcolonial studies have deeply transformed our idea of “whose science” and
what constitutes knowledge. As an historian under the influence of this
critique, my work has also been touched and moved towards research aims that

agenda, through the field of <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">the history
of emotions and feelings</b> inside the <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">love
culture of post-war Spain</b>. In my recent book “<b><a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/w36gq952n6w9g4w/Ciencia%20y%20sabiduria_eng.pdf" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc3300;">Science and wisdom on love</span></a></b>”
(Iberoamericana, 2013), I studied the cultural understandings of love
cultivated by Spanish women in those repressive years, through diverse

<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">and</b> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">collective</b> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">knowledge</b> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">on</b> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">sentiments</b>
through indigenous psychologies and subjectivities. I consider this knowledge
as a cultural dissent to power in the terrain of emotions, defined as a core
organ in the social body. In the same vein of deepening our awareness of
knowledge no regulated by techno-science, I’m a <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">doctoral research advisor</b> on projects about the cultural knowledge
developed by post-conflict societies (Colombia and Uruguay), on the health
knowledge contained in non-medicalized societies (using literature as a
resource) or, on how the traditional healers are employed by global biomedical

research will focus on</b> the <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">analysis
of popular knowledge</b> (and also the sciences that were influential) <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">on the practice of love and sexuality in
the 1960´s in Spain</b>. Firstly, I will deepen my exploration on the
relationship between expert and cultural interpretations of emotions. Secondly,
I will explore the overlapping between sexuality and love that traditional
history coined as two disconnected fields of research. Finally, I will also
explore the history of subjectivity and the display of indigenous psychologies
in the construction of gender identities during the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">emosexual</i> transformations that took place in the otherwise peculiar
revolutionary decade of the Spanish 1960´s.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="color: #cc3300; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: ES;"></span></span></div>
